Spring/Summer Menu Highlight: Overnight Oats!
We are so excited to introduce our newest breakfast item on the Spring-Summer menu: Peanut Butter Overnight Oats!
Overnight Oats have taken the foodie world by storm in recent years — in fact, you will even be hard-pressed to find a food blog or flavor aficionado that isn’t well-acquainted with this hearty breakfast as a seasonal staple.
So what exactly is “Overnight Oats?” It’s the fresh new version of a breakfast classic that is nutty in flavor, creamy, slightly chewy in texture (thanks to the hearty, steel-cut oats used in this recipe!), and served cold — ours, with a dollop of vanilla Greek yogurt on top and sprinkled with a little granola mix for an added crunch!
In fact, in this recipe, the oats aren’t cooked at all, instead soaking up the milk and spices overnight to leave the dish ready to grab and eat in the morning, straight out of the refrigerator! And even though a “raw” and cold bowl of oatmeal may sound a little strange right off-hand, just wait till you give it a try! The unique texture is truly addictive, and we know that you will love this dish just as much as we do!
Plus, there’s no better way to start those hot summer mornings than with a cold breakfast. And in our Peanut Butter Overnight Oats recipe, we add peanut butter and chia seeds to the steel-cut oats, to make this breakfast jam-packed with heart healthy fats, protein, and fiber to keep you full longer. Move over, Cinnamon Apple, there’s a new oatmeal staple on the block!
