Healthy Picks for Super Bowl Sunday
Don’t fumble your healthy patterns this weekend by mindlessly loading up on junk-food snacks. Use our Super Bowl Sunday snack tips/recipes to satisfy your taste-buds and your nutrition needs.
When you think of “Super Bowl Sunday,” what comes to mind?
I tend to think of 5-layer bean dips and nacho cheese with tortilla and potato chips for days. Wings. Sodas and alcoholic beverages. Zoning out on the couch and mindlessly munching away the game’s highs and lows.
Some consider these sorts of events “cheat days,” where they throw caution to the wind and dive in to a few hours of gluttonous junk consumption. But I would challenge you to snack smarter with the recipes below, developed by Good Measure Meals’ team of registered dietitians. These dips and snacks pack the flavor punch of their unhealthy counterparts; but when you substitute sliced veggies (like carrot medallions, celery, bell pepper slices or broccoli) for chips, they trump unhealthy junk food in nutritional value, hands down.
So whether you’re a “commercials critique/connoisseur” (like me), a Patriots fan, or a Seahawks fan (like GMM Customer Service Rep, Tiffany Dominguez), make sure to set yourself up for success on Sunday with our healthy snack recipes! Your waistline (and friends!) will thank you.
