Race for Good sets sights for Candler Park Festival

**(To learn about our June Race for Good 5K on June 7, click here!)

Race for Good 2014 is still “running” strong as we charge through the second quarter of the year!

Coming up at (literally) the end of May is the Candler Park Music & Food Festival/Atlanta ContactPoint 5K on Saturday, May 31.

This 3.1 mile run/walk through historic Candler Park will wind through the tree-lined neighborhood and along a section of the PATH Foundation’s Stone Mountain Trail. The race will also kick off the Candler Park Music and Food Festival! If you haven’t been to a festival in Candler Park, it really is a fun day in one of the city’s beautiful neighborhood parks.

As with all of our Race for Good events, this 5K benefits a local non-profit organization. Atlanta ContactPoint, the beneficiary of the Candler Park Music and Food Festival/Atlanta ContactPoint 5K, is a Georgia nonprofit that engages children and adults through the power of play, comprehensive education and other wellness programs. Here at Good Measure Meals, we love that the group “uses sports, fitness, arts, nutrition, and social/environmental responsibility, while also combating the growing problems of inactivity, virtual play, and poor eating habits affecting youth and adults today.”ACP_Logo_Update

If you haven’t yet signed up for a Race for Good event, make a point to come jog with us! We have a few weeks to prepare, and we can all celebrate afterward at the festival.

For previous team members, now is the time to check back in! We’re almost half-way through the year, and we want to keep our momentum strong to encourage as many participants as possible to join as we all work to keep up our regular exercise regimens.

As mentioned in this great Runner’s World Magazine article, Building a Support System is one of 4 crucial steps in making running a habit. The Race for Good team’s mission is to function as a support system for our friends, co-workers, customers, and ourselves – so come on out and join us on May 31!

How to Join the Race for Good Team:
