New Menu a Great Success!
In April, Good Measure Meals launched the new Spring/Summer 2014 menu, which highlighted some of our customers’ favorite flavors.
Every Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter, Good Measure Meals rotates the meals on our menus to reflect the seasons and to give our customers fresh new flavors.
This Spring/Summer menu launched to great success amidst moving into a new building and shutting down the kitchen for renovations. We greet each launch with fanfare, but this particular new menu turned out to be a feat of great planning and skill for our culinary and operations teams.
Despite ingredient supplies, resources, and staff constantly in shuffle between buildings, the operations team produced the highest quality meals day after day without a hiccup.
And even though we’re biased over here at Good Measure Meals, we feel with complete certainty that this Spring/Summer 2014 menu is not only our best menu yet, but the best menu on the market!
For this menu launch, our research and development team thoroughly pored over the weeks and weeks of menu feedback that you, our customers, provided voluntarily for us after you received your GMM plan each week.
“For the spring menu, we spent a great deal of time analyzing our Annual GMM Customer Survey, as well as the Weekly Menu Surveys posted online to look at what specific dishes and cuisines resonate with our customers,” GMM Senior VP Jess White said. “It’s impressive how much influence this menu took from customer feedback, so please keep it coming!”
We removed the meals from our menus that didn’t “wow” you, and we listened to your preferences as we developed new recipe additions.
“By analyzing the scores and reading all of the open-ended comments, we can clearly see which meals are customer favorites and what they would like to see more of,” said Catherine Izzo, GMM’s Research and Development Chef. “One of the distinct favorites from the menu that most customers wanted to see more of is our oven-fried chicken, which is marinated in buttermilk and herbs, coated in corn flakes and a little bit of Parmesan then baked until brown and crunchy. So, this got me thinking; how can I use the oven fried chicken more often without having the same meal twice in a menu cycle?”
“Of course, the first thing that popped into this Italian’s head was one of my favorite comfort food recipes: Chicken Parmesan,” Izzo said. “So, we got to work on developing a meal that would still be as comforting, but would fit into our strict nutritional profile. The result is one my new favorite meals on the menu: the Chicken Parmesan with Whole Wheat Spaghetti and a side of Asparagus.”
Just a few other new seasonal highlights to the menu include our new GMM Asian Chicken Salad with baby spinach, mandarin oranges, carrots, toasted almonds and a sesame vinaigrette; Mexican Vegetarian Rice Bowl; Kung Pao Chicken with the Thai Pineapple Rice; Sweet Potato Burger with Lemon Basil Spread; Crab Cake with a fresh summertime kale, apricot, and almond salad; plus many, many other additions!
“The Turkey Barley Stuffed Pepper topped with Shredded Swiss Cheese served with a side of Cabbage, and a Raspberry Brownie is my favorite new meal,” GMM Food Services Manager Julie Shipkoski said. “It showcases what GMM does best – provide a modern interpretation of a classic dish that’s healthy, delicious and satisfying.”
Since our customers’ tastes were truly the inspiration for our Spring/Summer 2014 menu, we know you’ll also be more than satisfied by what’s in store.
