Join the Race for Good Team April 27 as we Take on the Jonquil City Jog 5K!

Building a Healthier Community…One Race at a Time!

As a social enterprise of nonprofit Open Hand, Good Measure Meals shares in its mission to build a healthier community.

Race_for_Good_FINAL_MARK_750We do that through the support of our GMM customers…helping them set and reach their health and wellness goals. We do it through our corporate wellness collaborations with companies such as Coca-Cola, Turner and DeKalb Medical. We do it through our healthy cooking demonstrations for community partners such as the Atlanta Cancer Support Community and the Metro Atlanta YMCA.

And we now do it through the support for our wonderful friends in the nonprofit community.

How, you ask? Through our newly-formed Good Measure Meals 2013 Race for Good team. The team — comprised of GMM and Open Hand staff members, friends and family, our health and wellness partners…and hopefully YOU! — will run or walk in at least one 5K event each month that benefits a local nonprofit organization. This is a fun and active way for us to promote a healthy lifestyle, show support for our fellow nonprofits, and hopefully do our part to help them raise money to meet their operational needs.

When it Comes to Doing Good, There’s Power in Numbers!

Two races down — now we’re taking on the Jonquil City Jog!

JonquilThe next event our Race for Good team will tackle will be the Jonquil City Jog 5K on April 27, which starts in front of the Smyrna City Hall at 8:00am. Participants will run (or walk) for fun, education, and PIE at this annual race for education held in downtown Smyrna.  Proceeds benefit the Campbell High School Educational Foundation, Inc. – a non-profit organization that provides financial and community support to Campbell High School students. Campbell High School is a recipient of a Georgia School of Excellence award and has an outstanding International Baccalaureate program.

The 5K is an accurately measured out and back course down Atlanta Road that is scenic and fast. The race begins on Bank Street surrounded by the famous Village Green, City Hall and the Market Village then down Atlanta Road where it shoots down to Campbell Middle School, then returns finishing in front of City Hall and the Market Village, where it all began.

If this is your first race, meet us at the Good Measure Meals table around 7:15am or so to get your Race for Good tech shirt and warm up before the start of the 5K at 8:00am! Check out our Race for Good Facebook event page for more information!
