An Easy Way to Give Back to Those Less Fortunate this Thanksgiving
GMM Customers: Please make note of our Thanksgiving week meal delivery schedule!
With Thanksgiving right around the corner, we wanted to remind our Good Measure Meals™ customers that we will deliver meals on Monday only during Thanksgiving week. That means on Thursday, when everyone will be chowing down on turkey and pumpkin pie and a majority of our pick-up locations will be closed, we will not be delivering meals. Of course, we trust that you’ll continue to eat as healthy as possible, right?
What about your meals that won’t be delivered?
You have two options. One is, of course, to receive a refund for the half week of meals you will not receive. The other option gives you a creative opportunity to give back during the holidays: simply forgo your refund and the cost of those meals will go to help provide holiday meals for those in our community who are less fortunate.
Just as we’ve done in years past, we would be more than happy to direct your donation to Open Hand Atlanta. As you know, Good Measure Meals™ is a social enterprise venture of Open Hand, and 100% of proceeds from the sale of Good Measure Meals™ goes directly to support Open Hand community nutrition programs. Open Hand serves thousands of homebound seniors — many of whom are disabled — and individuals battling chronic or critical illness. Your donation enables us to brighten up the holidays for many of them.
Last year, our GMM customers were incredibly generous — donating the cost of their meals to the tune of nearly $19,000! What a tremendous show of faith in the impact of the work Open Hand does in our community!
If you would like to make a donation, you don’t need to do anything at all. We will take care of making the donation to Open Hand on your behalf. You will then receive a gift acknowledgement letter from Open Hand, which you can use for tax purposes.
Of course, if you would prefer to receive a refund, simply contact GMM Customer Service at 404-815-7695 no later than 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 23.
