Health & Wellness Team Keeps GMM Engaged in the Community

Nutrition Education Continues to be a Critical Part of GMM’s Health & Wellness Strategy

Fall is the season for many things: pumpkin-carving, changing leaves and health fairs! As the corporate community starts thinking about open enrollment and flu shots, Good Measure Meals™ starts preparing our nutrition education and delicious fall menu to promote healthy behaviors for our hard working friends.

Why is corporate health and wellness so important? Good health and vitality benefit an employee in every aspect of his or her life, and they specifically benefit the employer as well. Just as investing in an employees’ training provides a better, more valuable resource, investing in their health will provide an employer with a more effective and consistently available resource.

The costs of unhealthy employees is staggering. “Soft costs” such as  absenteeism and reduced productivity are calculated as costing four to seven times the amount that employers pay in health insurance premiums and workers compensation premiums combined.

So employers consistently take a look at their staff. Who is  overweight?  Who has a flushed face and is breathing hard just from walking in from the parking lot? Who are the couch potatoes? Who’s on medication for high blood pressure or other chronic conditions? More important, they are now asking, “How can we help them?”

Corporate health fairs are an effective way to provide valuable health information and screening services to large numbers of employees in a convenient “one-stop shop” format.  And nutrition services have become an integral part of every corporate wellness strategy.

Good Measure Meals™ is heavily involved in corporate health fairs throughout the metro Atlanta area, and offers a valuable array of services to help engage and motivate your workforce to stay invested in their own health.  From nutrition education and body composition analysis to cooking demonstrations and GMM meal plans, GMM is sure to make your corporate health fair a hit.

Whether your company has 100 or 5000 employees, Good Measure Meals™ is completely adaptable to your needs and incorporates interactive services to leave lasting impressions on your employees.  After all, it is our mission to educate and support our community’s health and well-being!

Our calendars fill up fast, so please be sure to request our presence at your health fair soon!  For more information and a list of our services, please contact Jess Parsons via email or by phone at (404) 419-1129.
